Agaricus (Latin Agaricus) — genus agaric family Agaricaceae (Agaricales) (see all Agaricaceae). Russian name «champignon» comes from Fr. champignon, simply means «mushroom».

Fresh and frozen mushrooms are a source of many nutrients needed for human health. Fresh and frozen mushrooms contain much more protein (3 g per 100 g) than vegetables. These high percentage of useful amino acids the human body, and 70 — 90% vegetable proteins contained in champignons, easily taught.
Properties.
Fresh or frozen mushrooms — low-calorie food (less than 30 calories per 100 grams). In very little sugar and absolutely no cholesterol. Both fresh and frozen mushrooms contain virtually no fat (0.2 g per 100 g). In addition, fresh mushrooms and frozen vegetables are richer in water-soluble vitamins.
Exemplary vitamin content per 100 g: B1 (Tiomin) — 0.1 mg, B2 (Riboflavin) — 0.4 mg Niacin — 0.5 mg Pantothenic Acid — 6.2 mg Folic acid — 0.016 mg Vitamin B12 -- 0,26 mg, Vitamin C - 2 mg
Mushrooms are an excellent source of minerals.
Contents of minerals per 100 g: Phosphorus — 75 mg, Potassium — 620 mg, Iron — 1 mg, Zinc — 0.2 mg, Sodium — 7 mg
In fresh and frozen champignons very low salt content, and content of dietary fiber 1 g per 100 g.
Frozen mushrooms have the same taste and retain all the beneficial properties of fresh mushrooms.
